Year 10 Sundarbans Case Study

You have been asked to write a case study on the Sundarban mangrove forests in Bangladesh. In case you have lost the handout here are the instructions! You can click on links below to research your case study (and if you have lost the handout):

You have been issued with a handout on the Sundarbans. Read it and take notes. Look at some of the extra resources online (page 4). Use the links below if you have lost the handout!

Your task is to produce a case study about the Sundarbans (2 A4 pages). I suggest you use sub-headings to help you break down your work:

  • Your case study must include a hand-drawn map and description of where the Sundarbans are located.
  • You must mention why the Sundarbans are important. Tip: biodiversity (physical) and human economic activity (human).
  • You must mention how the Sundarbans are being threatened. Tip: climate change (physical), tourism (human), deforestation (human)
  • You must mention some of the solutions introduced to save the mangrove forest.
