Year 10 Rivers Coursework

You will have received your instructions in the form of a booklet. Your homework this cycle for next Day 5 (Friday 8th May) is the following:

  • Select your 2 hypotheses (one from list A, one from list B). You can do a third if you like (either select it from list A or list B or come up with your own).
  • Write your introduction (which should contain the aim of your project, locational background and justification of hypotheses).
  • Write your methodology.
  • Data presentation (where you present your data in the form of graphs, fieldsketches, photographs, tables etc. - all depending on which hypotheses you have chosen).

Make sure you read the entire booklet before you start writing and follow any advice given. You can also download the booklet using the "resources download" link in the right hand column of this blog page. There you will also find advice on various hypotheses and a very good pdf document on river field-work techniques (like how to use a clinometer, measure velocity with a flow meter etc.). I encourage you all to download all of these resources and put them onto a pen-drive.

The final hand-in date for your coursework is Friday, 5th June. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Good luck and have fun! :)
